endorse and support:
Chancel Choir

The Chancel Choir rehearses every Wednesday evening at 7 PM from September through May and sing during the 9 AM worship service.

Children's Church

The children participate in this worship service in a variety of ways, including reading scripture, taking up the offering, and singing.

During the school year there is a children sermon during the 9 AM service.

Bible Study

A group gathers every Tuesday morning at 10:30 AM for a time of Bible study. The group is open to anyone who cares to join us. Studies are varied – sometimes reading through a book of the Bible and, at other times, a topical study.

Community Lunch

An outreach program targeting the less fortunate within the Altoona downtown.  On every 3rd Saturday of the month, a group of our members help pack lunches and hand them out in the downtown area.  We begin packing lunches at 10am and setup shop outside the Penn Alto suites downtown at 12pm.  Extra help is always welcome.

WOW -Widows of Wehnwood

We are a fellowship group that meets the first Thursday of each month at 1:30 pm. Come join us as we comfort and encourage one another on our journey of hope. Widows of all ages are welcome. Come help us discover who God is calling us to be.

Off Your Rockers

A group for "the young at heart" that meets monthly for devotions and a light lunch. The group collects money that goes towards local projects that have needs.

Volunteers-in-Mission (VIM)

The Altoona VIM Team has conducted 23 mission trips to assist disaster victims in central and eastern states plus a similar number of local mission projects. These teams have involved over 300 volunteer team members. Many have gone on multiple Altoona District and other mission trips.

Although these mission teams are sponsored by the United Methodist Church, the volunteers and those we support are ecumenical. It is amazing to witness the camaraderie that develops among team members who have a common goal of reaching out to help a neighbor in need. Contact Ron Hoover 814-232-1237
